How can I pay bills when I can’t find a descent job because of bad credit reports?

I am behind on bills, and needless to say I need a job. It seems I am up against bad credit reports when employers run a credit check. I was not able to apply for a temp-to-hire job because of credit. I need a job to pay off bills but I am having a hard time finding work because of credit.
