If I order 3 credit reports, how many points will I get knocked down?

Christine L asked:

I want to order the three credit reports from TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian, but I heard ordering one report will knock you down 5 points. If I order all 3, will I be knocked down 15 points?

No, and you are allowed to check your own credit once a year with out any point deductions from your score. So if you have not checked your reports withing the past 12 months then you have nothing to worry about.

Actually, you can request your credit reports as many times as you like without any effect to your credit (FICO) score. I would suggest you call or write to each individual Credit Reporting Agency to request your report. I am not a fan of the “Annual Free Credit Report”, especially if your wanting to start repairing your credit.
If you have recently been denied credit, have had an adverse change in your credit, or are receiving certain types of govt assistance you may be entitled to free reports through the CRA’s.

You will be knocked down zero points.

Should be None but make sure you order from the official free site .

1 order sends all 3 reports ( sans the FICO , that they can charge for )
